Jaye Ruth Friedman
Levy is a psychotherapist who has been in private practice for 27 years and offers a professional counseling service with
a philosophy that "each individual is special and unique." She offers Psychotherapy, Counseling, relationship, premarital
and Marriage Counseling, work with grief and loss, family conflict, women's issues,
crisis intervention, behavior modification, sexual identities, anger management, domestic violence, adults molested as children
and child abuse counseling. She has significant experience with trauma work and those with post-traumatic
stress disorder. She also has training in assertiveness, self-esteem, and male and female victims of incest
and molestation. She offers self-esteem and adults molested as children groups.
Jaye received her BA and MSW degrees and a Pennsylvania
State home and school visitor certification from the University of Pittsburgh. Jaye has also done some
doctoral coursework in Family Therapy. She is board certified and a diplomate in clinical social
work by the American and National Board of Examiners and with the National Association of Social Workers. Jaye
also has certifications and experience to work with child abuse survivors and their families, domestic violence and as a Red
Cross mental health debriefer. Jaye did Psychotherapy, Counseling,
and Marriage Counseling for 10 years for the Individual Provider Program of Orange
County Department of Children and Family Services, so she is familiar with the County system. Jaye
is also a critical incident stress debriefer for nearly 20 years for national companies and employee assistance programs,
going on-site to assist staff dealing with trauma and the threat of violence and/or corporate crisis intervention in the workplace.
Jaye is one of the originators and
the chairperson of the National Association of Social Workers Counseling and Psychotherapy Referral Service. She
encourages callers to ask questions and request services needed, according to their preferences, in order
to access help with our well-trained, qualified, experienced therapists for Counseling,
Marriage Counseling, and Psychotherapy.
Jaye utilizes a sliding fee scale from
$55 to $125 and will accept some insurances. Jaye is located in Irvine, near the 5 freeway and Walnut and
